Re-statement of ATSIP Constitution

As many of you may have heard by now, the National Safety Council has decided to resign as managing agent for ATSIP after the 2009 Traffic Records Forum. The current Constitution assumes an affiliation with the NSC, and the number of changes required to convert ATSIP to a stand-alone organization is large. The Executive Board along with the Parliamentarians agreed that rather than present a large number of potentially confusing amendments, it would be more prudent to present a restatement of the Constitution – a complete replacement – to the membership for a vote.

If accepted, the Association will exist as an independent professional society unaffiliated structurally with any other group, body, or organization. You will see many changes within the restated Constitution but we feel each will help ATSIP grow and move forward in the future.

Review the Restated ATSIP Constitution and use this Constitution Ballot in deciding the direction ATSIP will go. I, along with the Executive Board, have voted and endorsed moving this decision to the membership.

Please mark your ballot and return by July 9, 2009 to the contact numbers listed at the bottom.

I look forward to seeing those that can attend at this year’s Forum in Phoenix.

Sincerely,
Bob Rasmussen
President, ATSIP
