National Agenda Committee
The National Agenda for the Improvement of Highway Safety Information Systems is
presented as a broad framework of national goals which, when achieved, will provide
the transportation community with the information needed to effectively manage the
safety of highway transportation now and in the future.
More than twenty years since the first efforts were undertaken to develop the National
Agenda, the Association of Transportation Safety Information Professionals (ATSIP) is
exploring an update of this important document.
The National Agenda Committee will be looking at simple updates to be made, including
references, such as the MMUCC Guideline, which did not exist twenty years ago. The
Committee will be focusing on the impact of the National Agenda, related accomplishments
in highway safety information systems, what has changed since the agenda was first
published, and whether the six individual goals and supporting recommendations are
still relevant today.
